I think I would agree with the article since often I want to run in second instead of first, but with the current tall gearing 2nd brings the RPMs down too low for the engine to be effective on a small auto-x course.
I have to redline to run 60 in first, and on some auto-x courses I have to shift but I barely get to use 2nd.
2nd is so tall it can take me right past 100, but for in town fun and auto-xing this kind of gearing is useless for me.
The more I look at the feedback coming from the other TR members I am pretty sure I will stick with my current choice of 3.10 gearing.
Thanks for the input since it is helping me to validate a lot of research and calculations I have been doing lately.
