Default Check out this load of crap from slowboyracing.com(dsm perf parts)

I bought a evo 16g a few months back and put it on a car with a fresh motor. The shop that did the work is very reputable in my area and has never had any problems in the past with new turbos. The shaftplay got excessive and we agreed to send it back for warranty.Thier answer was there was foriegn material in the cartridge and was not going to be warranted. They also said never use a new turbo on a new engine(wtf does mitsu have in evo's,used turbos?)In the end thier being dicks and clearly said they only warranteed one turbo last year.If the motor had excessive shavings i would think it would knock or have spun a bearing.I'm never doing business with them again.

Heres a response from one of their guys
I always break in a motor on an old turbo, period.

Any time you reman a motor, you should NEVER put a new turbo on. Its just that simple. New turbos are even more prone to failure with the smallest amount of metal getting between the new bearings. New motors producs metal shavings, hence why you should fire up a new motor, let come up to temp, shut it down and change the oil.

So, in closing I 100% agree with the guy you talked to who said never install a new turbo on a reman'd motor. Agree 110%.

The simple fact still remains the same, there was metal inside your CHRA. It ruined the bearing and the shaft. No company who sells MHI turbos would warranty this turbo.

MGH

I purchased the turbo from them seeing Gavin(tenboltbeast) have good experience with them and the same turbo.Post what you guys think.
