Yeah I would keep the MX but the tranny is destroyed and I'm looking to upgrade. Thanks for the ideas guys, I really am pretty new to knowing exactly what I'm getting myself into, (as if you couldn't tell right?) so I guess I'll go weigh the pros and cons and see whats the best vehicle to start my first real project with.
