Definitely check the valve adjustment anytime the cams are removed from the head.

exh. .006 - .008

Did the head also get a valve job? Maybe the machine shop sunk the valves too deep in the head and the rockers are binding. With the amount that this head has been milled I'd also advise clay checking the clearances.
