I can't stop chuckling as I re-read your post. What I have gathered is that you emphasized "TRIED" because it didn't work out as if it somehow vindicates this guy. Then you stress "MINT" condition as if he changed his mind and returned it. Come on man, he got caught, luckily the car was in one piece. 7 month old son, another on the way (I'll go out on a limb and guess different girl), arrested for this, and now you say he's been in trouble before?
