I'd imagine about the same performance from either tranny... the 4 cylinder t5 is going to come off the line harder, but the difference in the 1st and 2nd gear ratio may cause a car to fall out of the powerband and lose ground there. Also, I would think the big difference in 1st and 2nd gear ratios in the 4cyl t5 would cause a ton of stress on that poor tranny, especially attached to a v8 with traction.
