When the injector overheats the gas going into the combustion chamber becomes much hotter. Not good considering your fuel is your thermal management. Also, on a note about too large of an injector, yes I believe you don't want to go way over kill. The optimum range for an injector to operate at under max efficiency is the 80% range depending on the injector. Once you start going too large, the atomization of the fuel becomes much harder to completely generate and therefore you have to run the injector at a greater rate...I.E..runs richer to idle smoothly, etc. Also, when you start talking about larger injectors, you start to move away from the traditional pintle style injector and start heading towards ball/seat, disc, etc. Not to mention most high cc injectors require a resistor box. Just some more to think about.

In regards to Mtber, 550cc injectors and 300whp with 80% duty cycle....what is your base fp? IF you had an adjustable fpr, you could increase the fp and get those injectors to handle 350whp + safely.
