If you run a front mount or a bigger ic,you can run 18 or so of timing.

I run 16 on mine it seems to run best there(track times) had gone all the way up to 20 with no detonation with 93 octane and 15 psi with the knock sensor unplugged.

Mine with 10 timing was having came problems as yours,aggravated the hell out of me till i figured it out.

It will be a dramatic increase in power,response,mileage everything.You will be very happy with it once you turn the timing up.
