Alright so first of all im driving a couple weeks ago when all the sudden my tach starts bouncing off the rev limiter after shifting into 3rd. Find out that the middle piece in my by pass valve for my intake (aem) got sucked up into my intake manifold and held open the throttle plate. Anyways i get it out and start noticing a noise. Its hard to describe but it increases with engine rpm and sounds like it travels through my driver side air vent (if you understand what i mean) i thought maybe i just needed to adjust my valves because it sounded similar to valve tap. I adjust the valves with the help of a friend who knew what he was doing. He went over every valves with me to make sure i adjusted properly. Now the noise still remains. Two days after adjusting my M.I.L. came on. So i check it and its P0172. This code has several causes but one of them is valve clearance. Im lost on what to do now and if anyone has any clue or suggestion send away. Obviously ill have to check my valve clearance again but i have asked several people and they seem to believe that the noise im hearing isnt valves but some type of vibration that is traveling and i end up hearing it inside the car (only when the windows are up)
