I saw that too. I'd LOVE to see someone do that to an A4 block without the aid of a sawzall
It may have its technical merits, but I don't think the block twists so much as the mains move around. Once the mains move around you'll bind the crank and really break shit.
I've heard stories of people making 1000hp with a good block and a stock crank. The stock crank is strong, but not when its being bound and moved around on its axis.
Basically it boils down to this, if you are making enough HP to question the longetivity of your block, you should buy a better block.
If its a game to you to see how long the stock motor will last (Rubberneck, SOL93) then let it ride and take pictures of the pieces
