actually its not ridiculous. Ive used both style gauges and IMO the electric one is a piece of shit. the mechanical one was so much more responsive to changes in pressure. the mechanical gauge also has a lot broader range from 0-100psi(it actaully raps around the whole gauge as upposed to just the upper portion). you also dont have to worry about sending units going bad and confusing it for an actual loss in oil pressure. as long as u install the gauge correctly with some good steel braided lines you will never have a problem with leaks.
