LCD screen and VCR install
Thanks to an awesome trade, I recently aquired a 5" LCD headrest mount screen and an EyeSeeYou race camera for the Focus. The plan is to hook up the camera to a VCR, then hook it up to the screen so I can play back between races at an auto-x. I plan on mounting the LCD in the glove compartment with some carbon fiber paneling. Problem is, the screen didn't come with any kind of mounting brackets, nor does it have any kind of points where you could put brackets on it. I assume I could just neatly epoxy on some brackets, or possibly mount it with silicone RTV since that is really just semi-permantent. Any thoughts?
I also need to find some prices on an in-car VCR. Checked one out at BestBuy today. Nice and compact, but it was also $230. Found another RCA at RadioShack for $130. Will the g-forces associated with auto-xing effect the recording abilities of a cheaper VCR? Does anyone know where I can find a good deal on a VCR that uses DC power? I don't want to get a DC-AC power converter because of the extra weight...plus home VCR's are a little on the large side. I'm also trying to get one small enough were I can mount it under my passenger side seat.
