But really it's an OK bike. It's heavier than most 750 bikes and it's a little low on power in it's class. Probably not the best bike to learn on but as long as you respect the fact that it is a 700+ cc bike you should be OK. Definately recommend the MSF rider course and make sure you get some gear (leathers, helmet, etc)
It's not that low on power. Maybe compared to a 2004 but when they were new they were fast. I used to ride a 94 ZX-9 and it had 135rwhp which was fast then and still is. Put that against a new one and it's not that much slower just heavier. This is his first bike so it's plenty fast enough for him.
