Default Worst thing to ever happen to the automotive world?

So what do YOU think is the worst thing to happen? On one end, we have the ever-so-popular Gay and the Bicurious movie series (supposed to be a 3rd with Vin Diesel in Japan....wow... ) which features completely false details and incredibly retarded attempts...for one, theres the main character's daily driver (a red Ford Lightning) which is faster than his riced out green Eclipse "weekend driver"...theres the repetition of refering N2O as "NOS", spoilers left and right, etc. etc. you saw the movies you know what I'm talking about.

But then theres the 70s-80s era of emissions and the strict safety regulations...thanks to California (IMO), we now have the beauty that was the 305 TBI. We also will never see more than a handful of such cars as the SkyLine, Lotus Elise/Exige S1, Toyota Volta, and a gallore of random cars that see Japan years earlier than we do (for instance, Toyota has had a direct injection 2.5, 3.5, and 3.0 V6s along with dual VVT-i (intake AND exhaust cams) for a decent amount of time now, and only recently do we see it in the new Avalon (thank God, its RWD now and doesnt look as bad), also a 6 speed auto that our cars could benefit from.

On the flip side, the f&f movies DID bring a small percentage of people into true motorsports...people who go "I want that car! Thats cool!" and come online to research it and find not to rice it out.

The flip side to the strict gay US laws are safer cars and engines like the EJ25 instead of STi's regular 2.0
