1000hp cars run 8s. I read 1500whp and 8.40s. Missed the bit about gaining ~350whp without a second run. It's still a lot of money to go 8s, but with that much additional hp, he might be closer to 7s, assuming he can get the car out of the hole. Sound like there was some ginormous lag going on there...and that motor might be no more.
I'd still take the NA big block car I have in mind over the Supra any day and buy a nice, daily driver with the extra cashola I'd save.
