put a flyin miata turbo kit on it. The bp loves the boost and your car will haul ass, like 12 second car there buddy. Perfect weight distribution on miatas, so i would leave the stock motor in, or if you are rich you can always spend 10k on the toda racing miata bp and run 10's!! and thats without a turbo........
