S12 is neat little car. It was available with a CA20E, CA18ET, and VG30E. The CA20 was the base model, making around 125 hp. I've heard that the rear suspensions in those cars are hard to work on, and of poor design (trailing arm?). That may not be ideal for drift. Then again, all manner of rwd car has been drifted.
I don't think it'll be the perfect drift car, but it'll still be fun, I'm sure. By the way there are usually about a half dozen at Cophers.
