The cam angle sensor is a chopper wheel, with a LED to read the spaces in the wheel as it spins. By reading the teeth, it tells the ECU where the engine is at in it's rotation. By having that piece of info(along with a ton of other info from various sensors).. the ECU can run the engine off of a preset map.

so, if the car is running shitty and im getting that code on the ecu...then im guessing its pretty important that i replace this. Hard to do?
