But I don't subscribe to the "no expense too great for safety" attitude. Eventually the "safety extremist" will require all drivers to be wrapped in a vel-cro cocoon and the only thing you'll be able to move is your pinky finger.
Helmet - good for all cars.
Seat belts - good for all cars, safety harness even better.
Roll bar or cage - depending on ET or type of racing - good.
Hans - Good for F1, CART, Indy, NASCAR, John Force, but unnecessary for a street car.
Jeeze Whaz, your bashing me for my Hans comment? Some of these folks actually think a 5-point isn't as good as a standard seat belt.
