Eek. Anything considered a sports car is going to rape you at that age. If you are hell bent on something RWD, you may want to consider a foxbody 4-banger Mustang. It isn't the fastest thing around, but insurance is dirt cheap even for the worst driving records. You can still tinker around with the 2.3 and make it a fun beater car until you reach an age where a sports car won't inflate your premium quite as much as it would now.
Also, regardless of what car you insure...your premium is pretty much going to be outrageous. The premium is not only based on your driving experience and record, but also your credit. At 16 I am willing to bet you have little to no credit, so this would also add to your high rates. If you pay the difference, would your parents add you to your policy? I'm willing to bet that would save you TONS of money.
