I can tell you right now, screw the 300ZX. With driver's ed and a good student discount, any insurance company will ring you up for around $1800 to $2500 for full coverage on an S14. If you're buying a car with insurance in mind, I'd get a 95 240sx with ABS. Insurance companies love seeing ABS and air bags, which means bigger discounts. Plus, the car is usually only worth around $4-6k.

Not under 18, but I do have a 93 240sx. State Farm, which is known to be on the expensive side, is $1600 a year with minimum coverage. That mean if an accident is my fault, insurance doesn't give me anything. Then again, the car only cost me $1300. I'm 24 with only a few dings and tickets on my record, and nothing within the last 3 years.

When I turn 25 next month, it goes down to $1000 per year.

My Scion tC is $1250 a year with full coverage, but I have that listed as a pleasure car (7k miles per year).

My WRX from 19-23 was averaged $1900 a year with full coverage, but different (cheaper) zone. Tampa area would have been $2400.
