Horsepower per liter is definately better than hp per cylinder but even thats not the whole thing. Weight and gearing keep stock MKIVs running in the 13s even at 109mph!

More info.. a 93 non-turbo makes 220hp from a 3 liter engine so thats 73.3hp/lt. The 93 twin makes 320hp from a 3.0 giving it 106.6hp/lt.. or one and a half times more hp per liter than the 2002 Z06. Even the older Supra non-turbos made 200hp (from a 3.0) giving it 66hp/lt. I wonder what kind of hp/lt Chevy and Ford were making in 88...

And yeah the Escudo has two engines. They imported Escudos to the US from 90 to 94 too.. just badged here with a slightly different name... Suzuki Escudo around 1990 or so
