I have a Rottweiler which will let me know if wind blows the wrong way.

I got XENA Disc Alarm puts out a loud 110db alarm if the bike is moved at all. It's set off when there's shock or movement detected on the motorcycle.

Shortly I'll be getting a high-end Scorpio Alarm with a pager to also help.

I'm not insured, so I'm constantly worried about my bike getting jacked.

Cecil, I don't blame you for taking extra precautions, this is becoming all too frequent of a problem. In fact I won't even be back on the saddle for the rest of the year. I'm too afraid to leave it parked somewhere at this time.

Do I think Alarms could have prevented or helped in that case? Absolutely, you set off a 110db screeching alarm at night, and somebody will take notice. Xena even makes a cable lock system that can link two bikes together with an attached alarm. There's no way in hell they're gonna fuck with both bikes at once without the alarm being set off.

I concur... out of sight... out of mind.

However...

I keep my bikes in a Garage... in a gated community... they are fully insured... I have a dog, firearms and 12 years of USMC experience.

That's not the point.

The question is...
What are some good options for security for motorcycles?

Would an alarm possibly deterred the theives that stole the bikes last night?

Would wheel locks of made it difficult enough for the thieves that they would of opt'ed not to steal "these" bikes?

How about cable locks?

Deterrents(sp)...
