alright well i took my car out for a spin and drove it hard. hard enough so that there was no question that the engine temp was up in the region where the fan needed to come on and it did and the temperature stayed where its supposed to be. so this leads me to my next question could there be a bad fuse or bad connection that is only sometimes turning the fan on?

give me some suggestions as it wasnt a temp sensor and apparently it wasnt the thermostat.
