will someone actually explain to him how an ls/vtec setup is put together. from what I gather so far he is still clueless. You dont just weld a vtec solenoid onto an ls motor and abra-kadabra. Your best bet would be to just buy a COMPLETE b16a2 or a3 swap and just build up an LS block. Like everyone else said it isnt gonna be cheap to do it right. $1500 I dont know about that. My friends just put together a pretty basic Ls/vtec setup nothing fancy just type R pistons and cams but he made sure to do it right the first time. He completely rebuilt the motor which means it is basically brand new. I think his ran right around $3500-4000 youll save probably over a grand if you dont rebuild. just dont rush into anything. Everyone here will tell you it is better to have a set gameplan before you go out buying things that you might not even use. take the time and do it right the first time you wont find much better advice than that.
