I would make that the last thing you do. After so much power both wheels are going to spin anyways. Add some power. Ic, dp, exhaust, boost controller, etc etc. You will also have to decide what you want to do with fuel. 280zx ecu's are nontunable. You can go with z31 and upgraded injectors, (a friend of mine programs and tunes z31 stuff so he could help out for cheaper than Jim Wolf), or go with a standalone system. The ticking noise you are likely hearing is a lifter. A lot of 280's seems to do it.
i like drifting and drag though....plus im not going to do to much upgrade wise till i rebuild a motor for it...my friend has like four 280 long blocks and he said he'd sale me one
