Yes, I think he understands that, but what he is trying to say is that the 350z started in the right lane which means time for him is taken in his lane only. He crossed the traps in the DSM's lane meaning that the time recorded in that lane had started recording once the DSM left the line which appeared to be slower then when the 350z had left the line. Therefore since he crossed in a lane which had started later he would actually be getting a quicker ET then if he had crossed the traps in his own lane. Hope that makes sense.
