My dad makes his own brew, that's an awsome hobby Bill but as they mentioned, try the light beers first, they are easier to make and you'll learn your mixes. Don't be skurred if you first batch tastes like malt liquor.

I'd love to make a hearty oatmeal stout but seeing as I'm one of the few people who enjoy stouts I doubt too many friends would be eager to try my hard work. I'm leaning towards some form of brown ale at the moment and maybe a porter for the second keg (planning on doing two five gallon cornelius kegs).
