It has been an off and on project but I would say total time would take about 3 days from start to finish. On the drive shaft, you may want to think about doing the aluminum shaft. All he would have to do is section it shorter and have it balanced by a drive shaft shop. No additional cost, you would just have to supply the driveshaft.
