I think you will pretty much have to use race gas in this day and age to compete. As long as you can drive it out....I dont see an issue. We are talking about cars with 800-900 rwhp here on some of the V8s and 400-700 on some of the very small import motors. Race gas is a must.

Again...I see it as....who will take the steps necassary to be faster. At some point..race gas is a necessary step. You can either use race gas to aid in extracting the extra HP...or you can limit yourself to 93 octane.

The only car I have ever seen that would compete on pump is Marks 240Z
