It's funny how you have to spend that money to just have equal hp to a early 90's 350...it's still a 350 block and with some heads on that motor it would fly. you can do anything to a 350, they just didn't have that much hp stock those days. Does that mean the motor can never be fast? you can also buy one of those cars for a 1000 and put 2000 in it and would be fast as hell. so who comes out faster in the end with less money spent? hmm...lets be real smart and go buy a new 1.8 liter motor and make it fast and pay car payments and have a 150-200 insurance payment a month too.
