Sleevin will always be better, but for cars not looking to make enough power to require sleeving, a block guard is a great way, to increase the stability of stock sleeves... By limiting that movement in the upper cylinder, it helps to strengthen it where it is prone to crack, and it also takes away that stress in the mid to lower part of the cylinder as well....
