Thats just it. Liquid propane has a higher octane rating than pump gas or race gas. So it staves off detonation while on the bottle. On a turbo car it is used again due to higher octane but also due to its much lower charge temps (not as cold as N20 but much colder than gas). It isnt widespread yet but it can be made to work. Biggest advantage is propane is cheap compared to the other alternatives.
