They cant keep it simple anymore. The govt is cracking down on emissions for personal watercraft offroad atvs and cycles lawnmowers etc and the 2-strokes just arent gonna cut it. That is why you are seeing more 4 stroke dirtbikes in the racing series now. In a few years the market will be all 4 strokes. It sucks but in the end it will be fine Im sure as the makers find ways to make more reliable power out of the 4 strokes.

I dont think emmissions is 100 percent of the issue..I think manufacturers of offroad bikes have realized the beter power delivery of four strokes again..in the early 70s..4 strokes dominated the offroad market...a 4 stroke is more fun to ride offroad than a 2 cycle..they dont have any low end power plus all they do is foul friggin plugs. BUt I think you are correct with the marin division...and to gte the power..you really need forced induction for that 4 stroke.
