Never thought the Supra was all that, but that 2JZ engine was a very nice piece of engineering. I hoped Toyota would stick with the I-6 in keeping with the Supra tradition, it would be as if Ferrari started building 4 cylinders. But then again, the i-Force V8 in the Tundra is a stout piece as well; that thing under boost would be a monster.
The Tundra's V8 is a 4.7L HB (HB = HUGE BITCH). They'll most likely go with a smaller engine size, especially since Toyota is getting into hybrid-ing everything.

The replacement for the 2JZ in the next Lexus GS 300 will be a 3L V6 pumping out 245hp and 228tq. The V8 from the current GS430 is being carried over. So we know Toyota's going to have that much by this spring.

From the RUMORS I've been hearing so far, the next IS will use the same 3L engine as well as a possible 3.5L V6 turbo and 4.3L V8, either anchored to a six-speed automatic or manual, and will be available in sedan, coupe, and convertible configurations. All of which could have the possibility of AWD, but so far that's just on everyone's wish list. We'll see when they announce it.

The possible 3.5L V6 turbo in the IS would be coming from the next Toyota Avalon.
