but WELDING an open diff, I'd consider that you're changing the physical properties and the mechanical workings of the diff enough that it's no longer considered an OPEN DIFF

as in it no longer reacts in any way, shape, or form like an open diff so it should no longer be considered an OPEN DIFF but rather a welded?
