geico.. u gotta have comprehensive coverage to get a winshield replaced, some ppl like to call comprehensive coverage "full coverage" me, i only have PIP, Liablility, and Bodily Injury..
exactly, i've worked for progressive for four years. the only way your windshield is covered in the state of florida is if you have comprehensive coverage. comprehensive is not "full coverage", full coverage is comprehensive with collision coverage. comp covers fire, theft, vandalism, any act of nature(ie. hurricane), and windshields in the state of florida.
if insurance companies gave free windshields for cars that only carry liability, they'd be paying out the ass, because thats the type of car that usually needs their windshield replaced. just like most insurance companies dont offer "roadside assisance" for cars with just liability. because usually cars with just liability are old and more prone to breaking down. but then again, roadside assistance only cost $7 every six months instead of $50 like AAA.
so, your insurance company is not shitty based on that, because NO insurance company would pay for your windshield with just liability. but i wouldnt put full coverage on a CRX either unless i did alot of work to it. liability with comp wouldnt be too bad though. but also remember, its your insurance companies responsibility to return your car to "stock form". so all the after market shit isnt covered unless you have "additional custom parts and equipment" coverage, and receipts. we give $1000 of ACPE coverage for free, if you have full coverage.
