1. Cars do not come from the factory with wax.
2. I told the dealership I don't want them to touch my car as I prefer my clearcoat without swirls.
3. The claybar removes any surface contaminants. The car had been sitting outside for about a month before I got it, so plenty of surface contaminants were on the paint.


True, you shouldn't wax brand new paint. My car had a finish build date early March. I purchased it late April. The paint had cured long ago and it needed wax to protect the paint. Anyone who doesn't wax a brand new car or have it waxed by the dealership is pretty much neglecting the paint from day 1.
