I just haven't put them on yet, still need a few more parts. Slicktops never came turboed so I'm forced to make the conversion myself. I always wanted a slicktop but I gave up on locating one shortly after the search began and then started shoping TT's. After a few months of looking at all kinds of junk I stumbled onto this little gem. I was sold the second I saw it, but in this state it lacks any where near the performance of its TT siblings. While the body is lighter by several hundred lbs, it just can't make up for not having turbos. My only option is to put some turbos into my slicktop chasis. Should be a fun little project once it gets into the build stage. Right now I"m still collecting parts. I want everything ready when I pull the motor. The second it comes back from the machine shop everything is going right back togeter and stuffed back into the car.
Collected so far/piled on my floor:
2 stock turbos
2 stock intercoolers
Complete intake tract
2 turbo manifolds
2 precats (for sale I don't need them)
2 j-spec down pipes
TT radiator
TT overflow bottle(junking for aftermarket unit)
TT fan and fan clutch
TT fan shoud
Total cost so far $550
Needed:
A/C condensor and lines
Injectors (haven't decidedwhat size yet)
Oil filter bracket
Oil pan
TT exhaust valves (or complete heads what ever is cheaper)
Head rebuild gasket kit
Engine rebuild gasket kit
Turbo oil/coolent feed/drain line kit
New turbo center sections if i decide to keep them
Weisco ceramic coated pistons with 8.5:1 comp
bearings and other rebuild goodies
I'm probaly forgetting some things.. oh well
My goal is to go from a Stage 1 NA - Stage 3+ TT in a single swap.
