FYI... down here, a car doesnt have to be EPA and DOT legal... all you need is registration and a tag. insurance is cake... how do you think people insure kit cars and one-off's?

in florida, all you need is a vehicle make to register. a model is not required. you can even register a vehicle w/ a 7 digit VIN. i have 2 friends who have worked w/ a "local" importer based out of orlando. one bought an R33 GTR, rhd. the other was going to buy an Evo7 RS but couldnt get approved from his credit union. he finds vehicles at auction in japan and ships them to the dominican republic where they are dissassembled into parts. then shipped to the port of Miami, Ft. Lauderdale or everglades and reassembled here stateside. the shipping is not that expensive. between 1000-2000. a car that costs $1000 usd in a japan auction would be ~$2500 all said and done to be in orlando. its not EPA or DOT legal, but its driveable on the roads. itll have a registration and a tag. thats all you need.

where else can you get a skyline for $22k?
where else can you get a JZA80 for $25k?
where else can you get JDM imprezza STI's and Evo8 RS's for mid-$30's?
where else can you get WHATEVER you want from japan?

fuck MotoRex... overpriced son's of bitches. all you JDM-madd-tytness lovers should consider yourself lucky that you live in florida. registering and plate'ing a JDM car is a hell of a lot easier here than anywhere else, especially canada since a car has to be at least 15 yrs old before its eligible.

in fact, the "local" importer just told me today he got done converting a pair of BRAND new RHD Honda NSX's for some royal family. the name slips my mind cuz i just dont remember. this guy does the LHD conversions and can import and register whatever you want.

see anything you want?

maybe here?
