First thing is look at the make of the alarm horn. That usuallly gives you an idea if its an aftermarket alarm or factory. I do believe though with an aftermarket alarm most of the time when you reconnect a powersource to the car the alarm will go off until you disable it. OR you can pull the piece of plastic underneath the steering colum and look for an aftermarket "brain" or square black box.
