Actually the E is for Extreme. It has the same blower as the S281 supercharged versions only with more boost and goodies. Anyway I just cruised by Brandon Ford the other day and saw several non-supercharged S281s with gauge pods in the middle of the dash.

The largest thing that hinders the S281s that are supercharged is the rear gear. Saleen had to put a 3.08 rear gear set in the car to get it to pass EPA milage tests where you can get anywhere from a 3.27 to a 3.73 in the n/a versions. As a result they can be quite doggy and end up only minorly faster than the n/a versions. I know of quite a few running around with no real concern of gas milage if you know what I am stepping in. One such car has the following:
12psi pulley
longtube headers no cats
3.73 rear gears
Nitto Drag radials
a few misc mods
11 second time slip

Just remember all are not the same. Nor are they at their full potential. So before anyone thinks to say again man those things are dogs and wastes of money consider the above. There is always another side of the coin.
