If you just happen to come across any '79-'86 models DO NOT do the later model conversion to the nose of these cars (unless you are forced to) because these cars are becoming harder and harder to find. Many late model owner think these are hideous, but there is that crowd that appreciates these front fascias. I love the '85-'86 GT fronts.

Now, it's only my personal opinion so I'm not slamming ya on it, but don't buy one at all if you're not going to work on it yourself. Work on these cars is not cheap given their nature for performance reasons. Plus, those in the know-how crowd will very likely look at you like "you don't know jack **** about cars." I'm guilty of this outlook.

If and when you do get into building up these cars be smart and do things right the first time around. Build the car around the motor, not the motor into an unprepped car or else you'll end up fixing a lot of stuff unecessarily. Brace the car up, get the torque boxes reinforced and welded up, replace mounts, bushings, even a nice mild cage inside should help tie everything together.
