Why do you need wheelie bars? I know cars that run 9s w/o wheelie bars. What is the width on those rims? I wouldn't worry about snapping an axle in 3rd or 4th gear. If they are going to break, it's going to happen in 1st or the second gear transition.
You haven't bought slicks yet? Finish the cage yet? Make it to the track yet?
Wheelie bars keep the front tires planted. Without them you get weight transfer to the rear taking weight off of the front. Plus it helps the car go straight. I'm telling you with that kind of strain you can break an axel in 3rd or 4th. If that happens the car goes straight in to the wall most of the time. plus would you want to break a set of axels that cost $500? They clearly are not meant for that kind of power. Well i cant afford axels right now so i'm going to the track anyways. I sold my old slicks because they were only 22x8. I got a 10 point chromoly cage that race related is supposed to weld in this week. that is if he has the cars already done he is working on. I'm calling him Monday to see if he is ready for me.
