If I was trying to get more air in for a bigger turbo I would do more then just hack the stock box...
But, Zate will tell you that there is no use at all for anything other then the stock airbox...even when trying to provide as much air as possible for a larger turbo. 
lol.. if your wanting to provide more air for a larger turbo.. then sure.. use a pod filter.... but for most peoples power levels.. stock airbox is fine.
