I own a 1988 fox wagon with what i think is a fuel delivery problem please help

this is how it happend, The car sat for 1 month than i bought it then i was drving after my 2nd tank of new gas and it just started cutting out when i shifted. Than i got home and it wouldnt start (i tryed till the battery was dead.) So i think fuel pump cause it sounded bad, replace that and not fixed so i take off the fuel filter , dirty so i buy a new one. Im 400$ in the hole and it still ainit turning over any ideas??? im not getting the fluid into the engine.Btw the first tank of gas was with a fuel injector cleaner 2nd wasnt and it died about right when the 1st tank of gas and f.i cleaner was gone. PLEASE HELP
