You can do it a couple different ways...
Top mount- the sub screwed into the baffle from the top which will leave the sub sticking up out of the enclosure ~3/8".
Bottom mount- The sub screwed into the baffle from the bottom which will sink your sub into the eclosure 3/4"(depending on the thickness of MDF you use)
I would top mount the the sub but make an additional baffle with a cutout of the outside diameter of the sub. Use wood that is as thick as your sub is tall when it sits in the enclosure. This way it a flush look.
And spends weeks doing fiberglass work?
