Default The thrill of victory, and agony of defeat...

So I went to a local track tonight with a few friends (4 people in my car including myself...) to have some fun... I didnt really plan on running, but the track conditions were so good that I gave in and decided to get a few runs in...

Kills first...

First one, an Evo8... He tried to give me the ole ricer flyby in the staging lanes, so all of my passengers instigated the ass whooping that then insued.... Im cruising about 60, as he gets on it and attempts the flyby, then drops back a bit... I prepare myself and stage for the run that I could feel coming on.... So he drops back a bit, then I see the headlights jump... So I drop to third, and as soon as he hits my back door I punch it... He gets about even, then I spool, and start laying fields of corn.... Hit it at 60 and shut down shortly after entering triple digits with him about, well, alotta cars behind me...

Second kill, an STi.... He choses to go from a 60mph roll as the track we are at is NRRA sanctioned, and I give it a little more than 1/2 throttle in third to let him feel he has accomplished something, then after allowing him about a 2 car hit, i slam fourth, hammer it, and put about 2-3 cars on him by the top of fourth....

And now, the main event, which became the defeat... Ron (QitStrn) and I decide to tag team a couple stangs, one 97 bottle fed cobra, and a newer style GT with unknown mods... (Silver with a white cowl hood and some gauges and chrome rims, and had a need for speed sticker on each rear quarter window....) He races the Cobra and puts Greyhounds on him, then I line up with the "GT" and he decides he doesnt wanna go from 60 where we initially had agreed from , he wanted 40 since he knew traction for me from a 40mph roll is hopeless... So we stage at 40 and on the third honk I hit it and start the smoke show ( as I said, I didnt plan to run so I didn have my stickies) Meanwhile, his Nitto DRs allow him to jump a bit, and I hear a sound almost like vtec... Vtec on a Mustang, I think??? Nah, gotta be NAWWZZZ!!! So he gets a healthy jump (about 2 cars) I spin second, and into third, then half way through third I breathe a sigh of relieve as I get a slight amount of wheel hop as I gain traction, start to reel him in, slam fourth, and by the top of fourth (took it all the way to 7k or so) I was inching onto his back bumper... But I thought it was pointless to take it any further as we were at about 110 and coming up on traffic so I ease in to fifth and shut her down... I brake a bit to pace the traffic ahead, and try to get him to oblige me with a 60mph roll so I could get SOME of my dignity back, but he politely declines my numerous attempts... I guess I can face a loss, but I shall return next week with my sticky rubbers....

All in all a fun night, even though I got beat... The Mustang was aa very stout car, and I guess just had a little more for me than I expected.....

As I said before, I will return next week to start all over again......
