Me Vs. fully built Trans Am
I was pulling onto Tampa Rd where I noticed a white LS1 Trans Am lowered with chrome Z06 rims pull up next to me. I noticed him going the other direction and he rev'd me so he must have turned around to race me. It sounds pretty nasty, I figured it must have a cam, he punches it a few times, his car spins thru second as his auto downshifts.....so I figured I'd be polite and give him a run. We go from 60mph and he gets out about a half a car and I slowly run him down, shift to 3rd and put some distance in between us and go to 4th and can see him clearly in the rear view. This happens a few times from both a stop and from a roll and he asks what I have done and I go thru the usual list of bolt ons, he asks if I'm spraying and I reply "not at the moment...no". He wants to pull over and talk. I've seen the car before at a shop near my house with the motor out, he begins to tell me that it has a 6 liter truck block bored out, forged this and that, he gave me cam specs and what not, lowered compression. I casually open my bottle in the back of my car while hes talking. The bottle was low on pressure and barely full, I could only detect a faint white mist while purging, I'm guessing a 75 shot at best, but we head back out and do it again. By the time I'm in 3rd gear there's 10+ cars between us and I cant tell if hes racing so I let off, we do it again with the same results. All in all I finally had a few decent runs!!!
I was in the Camaro BTW...
