World record for farthest driven is 1,000,000 miles. Its a Volvo.
It's actually 2,000,000 miles. The car is a 1966 P 1800S owned by a guy named Irv Gordon. It turned 2 million miles back in 2000 or 2001 and I believe he has added another 100k miles onto that.
Anyway, I daily drive a '96 850 "Turbo Brick." I bought the car with 89k miles in late September and I just turned 109k miles delivering parts to a fellow TR member tonight. These have not exactly been "easy" miles, either. Just ask Fordified or shinysideup about that.

I have no real complaints with the car and it hasn't given me any trouble. I have a vacuum leak to fix and I found a tear in the passenger's side CV boot last week. Those are pretty much the only "repairs" that I've had to do. These cars do VERY well in crashes. I did battle with an '03 Cobra about a month ago and to look at the car you wouldn't even guess that it had stood its ground against a 4000 pound car. It looks like someone just backed into it.
Anyway, I can give you plenty of facts and opinions about the 850/70 series cars. If that's what you're looking for I'll let you know what to look out for.
